Plasterboard walls often consist of thin plasterboard (18mm) built against a frame of wood or metal. Also called: CLS or metal stud frame. A quick and relatively cheap way to place a partition wall. A metal frame behind a plasterboard is relatively weak, we advise not to hang a bracket on it without further ado unless the wall is reinforced. If the wall consists of a wooden frame, this is more solid.
An 18mm plasterboard does not provide much grip in the middle of the board. If you want to mount a TV on such a wall, you can do this in the following two ways.
This question can be answered with yes and no. Look, if you know where the internal frame runs, then you could screw a tilting wall bracket on there. Keep in mind that the leverage at that point on the wall is great. The longer the arm of the bracket, the greater the force. If the wall is not double (double plaster) or super sturdy, we will not advise this.
Generally speaking, only a flat wall bracket is suitable for mounting on a plaster wall. This is because the load-bearing weight of the bracket is firmly attached to the wall. By using a lot of screws, nails and plugs, you distribute the load-bearing weight over the width and, for example, a 65 inch TV can hang perfectly.
