Which projector mount is best for you? That depends on your preferences and, of course, the type of projector. Most projectors have mounting points underneath or on top where the projector mount can be attached. We sometimes get asked if this works well, because if the mounting points are underneath the projector, the projector will hang upside down from the ceiling.
If this is the case and the projector hangs upside down, this is intentional by the manufacturer. This is because (in most cases) the buttons on top of the projector remain accessible. Through the projector’s menu, you can rotate the image 180 degrees so the image is displayed correctly on the wall or projection screen.
A beamer is a video projector. Whether you use the word projector or beamer, both are actually correct. The reason we use “beamer” in Dutch instead of “projector” partly comes from the fact that the first beamers appeared on the market while there were still many slide projectors and overhead projectors available.
Slide projectors and overhead projectors were both already called “projectors.” It would have been confusing to call the new product “projector” as well. That’s why the video projector got the name “beamer” in the Netherlands.
In summary, a beamer mount or a projector mount: both are the same products.
