Mechanical or Electric foldable ceiling mount?
There are two types of foldable or retractable ceiling mounts.
- Mechanical retractable ceiling mount
- Electric full-motion retractable ceiling mount
Mechanical retractable ceiling mount
A mechanical, or manually operated foldable ceiling mount, is the most affordable of its kind. Fold the TV up and away, it clicks into place and is neatly tucked towards the ceiling. Press a button to unlock the TV again.
This foldable ceiling mount is suitable for TVs up to 37 inches with a VESA mount up to 200x200 and a maximum weight of 20 kilos.
The TV can rotate 90 degrees on the ceiling. Important during installation is that the ceiling plate is screwed onto a sturdy beam.

Electric full-motion retractable ceiling mount
What a beautiful product this is. Not without reason but very much of this time. The electric foldable or retractable ceiling mount. This product is available in multiple sizes, depending on the screen. Operated with remote control or APP. These foldable full-motion ceiling mounts are more sensitive to malfunctions and require free movement space.
These electric ceiling mounts have a powerful electric motor. It is important that the unit is attached to a solid ceiling. The unit’s mobility depends on the surface it is attached to. The bolts experience considerable force (lever effect) to rotate and tilt a large screen up to 75 inches.
When installing an electric fold-away ceiling mount, the unit runs an installation program. It will perform all movements, both rotation and tilt. If the unit is mounted in a corner and hits the wall while rotating, it cannot complete its installation process and will malfunction.
The unit also requires a 220v power outlet to operate.
Once the unit is finally hanging and installed, it is of course an eye-catcher. Use the remote control or APP to lower a 75 inch TV in your mancave, living room, or home bar.
