What is the ideal viewing distance for TV screen sizes in inches
We often get the question, "How high should I mount my TV?" and "How far should I sit from it?"
The ideal viewing distance per inch size:
- for a 55 inch TV, the ideal viewing distance is 1.7 meters
- for a 65 inch TV, the ideal viewing distance is 2 meters
- for a 75 inch TV, the ideal viewing distance is 2.3 meters
- for an 85 inch TV, the ideal viewing distance is 2.6 meters
- for a 98 inch TV, the ideal viewing distance is 3 meters

What else should you consider:
Pay attention to the TV’s resolution; the more pixels, the sharper the image. An older LED or LCD TV has fewer pixels, a lower resolution, and therefore looks a bit blocky. This isn’t a problem as long as the viewing distance is large enough. If you sit very close to the TV, the image won’t be very sharp—more blocky and restless. If you buy a 4K or 8K TV, the image is much sharper, and sitting close to the screen will give you a crisp picture. If your TV is too large, you’ll have to read subtitles from left to right.
Ideal viewing height for large screens:
This is harder to answer because many more factors come into play nowadays. The old rule was 1/3 viewing height (about 100 cm from the bottom of the TV) and 2/3 above. Today, screens are so large that they are mounted much higher on the wall, so this rule doesn’t always apply. It also depends on whether you sit or lie on the couch, how far the couch is from the TV, and whether the TV is part of a cinewall. All variables.
Large sturdy wall mounts for big screens:
When we talk about large screens, we now mean screens from 75 inches and up. For these large screens such as LED, QLED, OLED, NEO QLED, we offer strong, solid TV wall solutions.
