Hanging your TV outside under a canopy? Keep in mind the biggest enemy of your TV.
How wonderful it is to enjoy warm summer evenings outside under the canopy. A drink, the TV on, and streaming some music or a football match.
More and more often, we get asked what to consider when moving the "old TV" from indoors to outdoors. How do you mount your TV, and what do you need?
The most important thing to keep in mind is that the TV must not get wet. TVs really can’t handle moisture. Rain or garden sprinklers can cause a short circuit. So, mount the TV in a dry spot. For example, we sell TV mounts that are removable or easy to disassemble. Often, customers hang their TV in the corner of a canopy, away from moisture.
When building your canopy or garden house, make sure to install power outlets and a UTP connection point for your TV. We also sell extra-long UTP cables and HDMI cables for a streaming box.
Another thing TVs don’t handle well is sand, dust, and insects. Over time, this can cause problems, especially if you have a spider’s nest inside your TV. We sell TV protective covers to shield your TV from the elements.
