When you want to mount a television, there are several factors to consider. To help you as much as possible, we’re happy to describe the most common situations.
Every TV mount we ship comes with bolts and nuts so you can attach the TV mount to your television. The TV mounts also come with screws and wall plugs for mounting the TV mount to the wall. The included wall plugs are suitable for stone and concrete walls. The included screws will fit in almost all cases. However, your television may have non-standard dimensions, meaning the bolts won’t fit. If this is the case, you can buy the right screws and wall plugs at your local hardware store.
Different types of walls
Rooms have different types of walls. Some walls are more suitable for mounting TV mounts than others. Concrete or stone walls are almost always suitable for mounting a TV mount. If you want to mount a TV mount on a plasterboard wall, it’s important to use special wall plugs. These wall plugs are not included, but are available at your local hardware store.
Mounting a television on a hollow plasterboard wall
Hollow plasterboard walls are built around a wooden frame covered with plasterboard. If you want to mount a TV mount on this type of wall, it’s important to attach the mount to the wooden frame behind the wall.
Mounting a television on an aerated concrete wall
If you want to mount a TV mount on an aerated concrete wall, it’s important to secure it with screws that are almost as long as the wall is thick, so the mount stays firmly in place.
Please note!
For a plasterboard wall or an aerated concrete wall, we recommend choosing a TV mount that sits flush against the wall. With extendable TV mounts, the television is pulled further away from the wall, placing more weight on the wall. Plasterboard and aerated concrete walls are generally not suitable for this.
