What is an infrared extender?
An infrared extender is a compact device that receives the signal from your remote control and forwards it to the equipment that is out of sight. Think of AV equipment stored in a closed cabinet, hidden behind a wall, or even located in another room. This way, you maintain a sleek interior and full control over your equipment.
How does an infrared extender work?
The operation is simple: you place the IR receiver of the extender visibly in your room, for example on or under the cabinet or near the television. Then you connect the included IR sensors, which forward the signal to your devices.
You place these sensors in front of the infrared eye of the devices. When you point your remote control at the IR receiver, the signal is forwarded via the sensors to your equipment – even through wooden cabinet doors, walls, or other obstacles.
